About Riverside House
Riverside House opened in 2012 and has been developed and designed in line with the values that underpin the Registering the Right Support and other best practice guidance. These values include choice, promotion of independence and inclusion.
We are fully registered with The Care Quality Commission (CQC) location ID 1-366411829 and are registered for 10 service users between the ages of 18 -65 years who are on the Autism Spectrum and/or have Learning Disabilities.
We provide residential services 24 hours a day 365 days a year but can also provide regular respite if required. There are 10 bedrooms, 9 of which are en-suite. Riverside House is close to the town centre which includes various shopping opportunities, public houses, restaurants, recreational facilities and has good public transport links. We also have in house activities with access to the onsite gym, sensory room, cooking & baking in one of our two kitchens and arts & crafts. In the wider organisation we have regular social events including birthday parties, bowling tournaments, shows and anything our service users suggest

Our Philosophy
Riverside House specialises in providing residential care services which supports service users to access a safe, secure and non-judgmental environment which may be a home for life.
They will be encouraged and supported to make the most of things that they can do well and sensitively guided through things that are necessities.
The foundation of Riverside House support and care is inclusion, acceptance and fair treatment.
We endeavour to acknowledge and greet differences until difference makes no difference at all.
Our Staff
At Riverside House we pride ourselves as having a highly qualified and dedicated staff team. The team is a diverse group with a wide range of life experiences but with a common goal of improving the lives of people on The Spectrum. The staff team are well trained, motivated and committed to providing a service of excellence.
Staff have a good understanding of people’s needs based upon initial assessments and continuous assessments. They understand the importance of respecting people’s dignity and upholding their right to privacy.
Activities
At Riverside House, we are dedicated to offering engaging activities tailored to individual needs. Our experienced staff provide support on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis, ensuring personalized care for everyone attending our service. Activities include swimming, cinema trips, rambling, arts and crafts, developing computer skills, and focusing on health and fitness. Additionally, our team helps individuals build social skills, foster independent living, and develop a sense of personal responsibility through daily guidance and support.

We have an extensive referral and admission procedure; this ensures that we find the correct placements for potential service users. As we are part of a group it may be that Riverside House does not meet your particular needs at that particular time but, it is possible that one of our other services do.
